DIRECTOR

I take a bespoke approach to every project I work on, pulling from my training in physical theatre, viewpoints, improvisation and devising to deliver an impactful production that empowers performers and engages audiences. I am a firm believer in the power of visual aesthetics and stage magic as a means of storytelling and I love working in immersive and site-specific environments.

I also specialize in comedy and new writing. Have a look at some of my previous work below.

STRANGER THINGS: THE DRIVE-INTO EXPERIENCE

Secret Cinema, Los Angeles

"Campy, Nostalgic Fun" - LA Times

Working closely with Netflix as Global Director and assisting Matt Costain in performance direction, we managed a cast of 50+ actors to deliver this Covid-safe immersive experience to over 250,000 Stranger Things fans during its run. All set across a multi-story parking garage in Downtown LA. I was also in charge of integrating all FOH, Security, F&B into the immersive world we built.

BACK TO THE FUTURE

Secret Cinema, London

A loving recreation of Back to the Future's Hill Valley with strong 1950's festival vibes, which included a vintage shop where I worked as assistant director to Joe Hufton, helping actors and support staff develop characters and interactions with audience.

"The immersive experience was so good that it blurred the line between fiction and reality." - The Independent

THE CORN IS GREEN

Huntington Theatre Company, Boston

"Gorgeous. A real pleasure." - Boston Globe

I worked as an assistant director to legendary Broadway director, Nicholas Martin, in collaboration with Kate Burton as the lead in this touching, heartfelt production of a classic.

Boston University, Boston

THE BELAFONTES OF ANIMAL KINGDOM

I love working on new writing. On this show I collaborated with long-time friend and writer Jon Bass to create a Rousseauian morality comedy on the perils of modern civilization.

ESCAPE THE JACKET

Mostly Harmless Games, London

"The puzzles are tied, no pun intended, to the theme perfectly." - Escape Goats

The Challenge: take a 3 metre squared room in a disused railway arch and create a compelling, immersive escape experience for audiences of 6 at a time. These are the type of challenges that, as Creative Director of Mostly Harmless Games, I absolutely relish. Exploring the theme of Victorian magic and escapology, the audience became the magicians while uncovering their murky past through a series of challenging puzzles.

FAT TUESDAY: AN IMMERSIVE MARDI GRAS

Americana Arts Company, London

On this show, I forged a path by wearing ALL the hats - director, producer, designer, costumer- to great success. The first two iterations sold out at Vault Festival and put NOLA-style Mardis Gras on the map as a cultural touchstone to be looked forward to in the London yearly calendar.

MASQUE OF THE RED DEATH

Punchdrunk, London

"Immaculately detailed" - The Guardian

This is where I first fell in love with immersive theatre- working as a production assistant and a directing intern, learning under Felix Barrett and Maxine Doyle on this epic, gorgeous show.

UNIVERSAL CONVERSATION TREATMENT CENTER

Boston University, Boston

Another comedy collaboration with writer Jon Bass. This time people have forgotten how to have meaningful conversations and attend a therapy center with rather unusual techniques.
